Additional filter to the search bar

[ad_1]

Hello,

Thanks for your message. We understand the situation, but that’s quite an invasive modification that may affect some core files as well as the database structure, and so we do not recommend opting for such heavy customization, or you may end up having a version of the plugin that won’t support future updates.

As you’ve also noticed, the only filter available is the one by category. Many of our clients use the categories for several different purposes, not only to determine a “type of room”, but sometimes in case of property managers with many listings, also to mention the location.

If your website is advertising listings in several locations, then what we suggest is to include the name of the location in the category itself, for example “Location A – Apartments”, “Location A – Villas”, “Location B – Apartments”, “Location B – Villas” etc.. this way you won’t have to add another filter which is not supported by the system and would require you to use hooks to perform duplicate queries and unset certain rooms from the search results before these get displayed. Adding a new filter would be simply an invasive modification and it would impact on the framework speed and resources.

We hope this helps!
