I got this new client (hospital) who needs customers can directly book appointments and make payments, all from the website itself.
What plugins should I consider for this purpose? Give me heads-up with flows to deliver a great project.

You can likely find a reputable appointment/online payment plugin by googling “Wordpress appointment plugin with payments” or something to that effect.
Not really why I chose to answer, tho. Be very careful with patient information. In the US, we have HIPPA law to safeguard medical info. I’d read up on how that might apply to your client’s request.
Also, make sure you choose a PCI compliant payment portal and processor. Most processors are compliant. It’s be the plugin or 3rd party app that you end up using that you need to verify. Also, pertinent to the US.
Take a few to research those compliances before you start looking into solutions or providers.

Honestly, you need this to go through the existing EHR/EMR. Both for HIPAA compliance as well as avoiding the logistical nightmare of two separate patient portals.
A good EMR should have a widget that allows you to book different services with different practitioners, as well as links you can use to a booking page so you can have buttons as well as a booking calendar on the site. It will also have built in payment processing that allows you to have procedure codes, generate superbills and connect to various insurance clearinghouses.
You need to tread carefully, if you do the wrong thing and patient information is not protected to HIPAA standards you may be putting the facility at risk for up to $50,000 per violation (generally a max cap per year of just under 2 million).
If it were me, I’d want the HIPAA compliance officer for the facility involved in the process.
Short answer: Use the existing EMR.
