Now that Jetpack is charging for its stats feature it’s off the list, which is a shame because it’s page views breakdown was really good, I’ve since been using Google Site Kit but in my opinion it’s terrible for what I need, you have to dig so deep in Google Analytics to get a breakdown of traffic per page and there doesn’t seem to be a way to have it display per-page-views on the WP dashboard.
What are your recommendations for a Jetpack stats replacement? Something that will give me a simple interface on the WP dashboard for overall views for that day, and a breakdown per page / post.

It has a nice looking admin widget too showing clear stats.
I agree with what you’re saying with Google Analytics, it’s a bit of a pain to actually navigate through and find the data you are looking for. I have used Post Views Counter and it has always worked well for me and, based on what you’re describing, I think it is what you’re looking for. I never had to pay for the pro version to get what I needed.
Why not use WP Statistic plugin if you need just pageviews?
