Hello,
I am building a new WordPress site for a wine writer. She has not previously had a website, but has published work online through other outlets. She has written many articles – some already published, some waiting to be published on the new blog site. She has permission from publications to republish any articles that were previously published.
On her site she will share her writing and offer wine tasting events in her local area.

I want to be strategic about trying to build her audience, and getting the most out of the content she has already created.
Here are my questions:
* Should I publish her existing articles on a schedule over several months, or publish all of the old stuff immediately, then add new content as she writes it?
* Does it make sense to stagger the re-publishing?
* Does the timeline for publishing blog posts matter when there is no audience yet?
Don’t feel like you need to dump everything all at once! Slow and steady wins the race here. By spreading out your articles, you can keep your website feeling fresh and give each piece its time to shine.
Now, I know it might feel like you’re sending your work out into the void at first. But trust me, consistency is key! Even if your audience is small at first, sticking to a regular publishing schedule helps you build momentum. Plus, it’s good for your website’s visibility on search engines in the long run.
Oh, and don’t forget to shout about your new website from the rooftops! Share your articles on social media, send them out in newsletters – get the word out there! And when people start engaging with your content, be sure to chat back with them. Building a community around your writing is where the real magic happens.
Lastly, mix things up! Share a mix of evergreen topics (those timeless classics) with some timely pieces. Variety is the spice of life, after all!
By finding the right balance between your existing and new content, getting the word out there, and staying true to your unique style, you’ll be well on your way to building a loyal following. And hey, don’t hesitate to reach out if you need more tips along the way!
