Not the most riveting topics when it comes to web development, but just had some questions regarding them. I’ll try to make this quick.
Where do you even start with contracts when beginning web development? I’ve done some research, but for some reason I can only find templates for web design and/or big web dev agencies, not freelancers. I don’t have a ton of experience in legality when it comes to this stuff, and of course I will have to learn a little, but what’s a good first step? Or, does anyone have a good template they follow that I can build off of?
No one wants to get their site hacked, especially those with little capital to back them up if legal issues arise from it. I’ve done my research when it comes to practices that will minimize the chances of such things happening, but it can never be prevented. So, are there any specific types of jobs you should stray away from with clients as a new freelancer? What I mean by this is, are their jobs that have higher security thresholds or just require more experience in security to take on? This is the number one thing that’s keeping me from throwing my hat in the ring.
Also, just another small question, how do other freelancers typically price pay-to-use plugins for clients? I would assume if there is a plugin you need for a specific project, you just include the cost of it on the total bill to client, but what about cases like woocommerce? If you are using this plugin with multiple clients, I would assume you pay for it out of pocket. Just want to hear what everyone else does.
Any and all help is appreciated, thanks for the help.
