Disabling recaptcha (stopping calls to gstatic.com and google.com)

[ad_1]

Hello!

I have a WordPress 6.4.3 install going. The whole site is password protected and won’t be around long – just for family and friends. I won’t be using any signups or comments, just hosting information.

In the Firefox Network Inspector, loading my site shows everything coming from my domain except:

* www.google.com, for api.js?ver=6.4.3, and
* www.gstatic.com, for recaptcha_en.js.

I would like to not rely on any external resources, and specifically not involve Google at all. I can’t find a way to disable this–I’ve followed a few tutorials for modifying my theme’s functions.php but with no success.

Can anyone give me a hand with this? I really appreciate it. Thanks!

  1. You must have a plugin installed that uses recaptcha (eg a form builder) – find it and remove it.
