Does anyone have an inside track to getting a hold of customer service from WordPress? I've been trying to downgrade my website, which you can't do manually, for over 4 days with no assistance via chat, and no phone number to call. My plan renews in two weeks and I will be fucked if that charge goes through.
This sub only deals with “Wordpress” which is open source software.
Your gripe is with WordPress.com, which is a hosting company. Who are a little busy right now. Your only avenue for support is WordPress.com/support. You might want to consider moving to a better host – there have been several complaints here about lack of support from wp.com over the last few days.

WordPress.com is a little busy getting sued right now. I’d recommend switching to a better and cheaper host that uses the open-source WordPress.org software.

Is this why Matt changed WP.com hosting to pressable on the .org hosting page last night? Is something going on with .com that it’s crumbling?
Just switch to a managed VPS as soon as possible!
Remove your credit card from the account – you’ll get a whole lot of warnings and then get automatically downgraded.
