When I link a particular post/article to a friend or on a social-media account, the homepage link image displays on the link instead of the featured image of the post.
Why is this and do you have a solution? Please help me

Google opengraph image. This is what controls the image shown when you share your link. Depending your theme, it may be showing only one image for the og meta tag. Usually the Yoast SEO plugin will over ride it and show the featured image for posts. You can test it by looking at your page source code or there are tons of opengraph testing websites.
