I recently started having issues with some sites where I would get 403 Access denied errors on some of my sites. I was told by my host, if I deleted the htaccess files, I would probably be able to sign in again. This has worked a number of times. It seems that the htaccess file is auto created afte it is deleted. Would it be better to use this plugin and do a backup and then if there was a lock down, manually delete Htaccess file , sign in and then restore the backed up file. Does anyone know what causes this file getting coruppted?
