How did this happen?

[ad_1]

When I visited my “about me” page on mobile, it looked like this – I did not insert this spam text that appears after the paragraph “Hi! Thanks for visiting my site…” I checked it on desktop and did not see the spammy text. Logged on to edit the page, the spam text didn’t show in the editor. When I removed the leading text block, the spam text I saw on mobile disappeared and my page returned to normal. How did this happen?

  1. You’ve been hacked. As for how it happened, in nearly all cases it is caused by an out of date, vulnerable or nulled plugin or theme.
