I have a paid version of Wordfence, which I’ve had for many years (at a lower rate). I guess as part of my longevity, I also have a very old-fashioned and outdated (and counter-productive) 2-factor authentication, which is a pain to use. I have to log in with my username and password, then a new window comes up. Again, I have to type my username and password, followed by a blank space, then the letters “wf” and then a code that gets sent to my mobile phone. The window is tiny and I almost always make typos during this process. As a result, I avoid logging into this WordPress site as much as possible.
I would like to disable 2FA altogether, and I have tried to many times to disable this feature and even asked how to do it in the user forum, and nothing works. The 2FA persists and persists. I also can’t migrate to the newer 2FA — I don’t know if it’s any better, but it gives me an error message about a user (me) having SMS when I try.
How can I disable 2-factor authentication without deleting the entire Wordfence plugin from my website? Or is that my only option, to delete Wordfence altogether? Thanks.
