How do I go around rebuilding my wordpress website?

[ad_1]

The last 3 months I have built a simple blog website, kept on updating it and improving it long story short, I am getting a lot of traffic lately on the website but I want to rebuild it from scratch I am afraid that I might do a mistake by deleting the website or something like that what do you guys suggest for me to rebuild and how do I go around that.

  1. 1. Create a backup and save it offline.
    2. Start working on a new website on your localhost.
    3. Once done, test it well and then replace the live site.
    4. If any issue occurs, restore the backup.

  2. In my experience, you have 2 options:

    1. Remain on your current hosting and use
updraft. This is (imo) the only solid standalone backup plugin for wp. Then you can either upload that backup to a separate install on your server or to a local install (check out the software service called “local” if you’re interested, it can be very helpful)

    2. Move to wpengine. This changed my game immensely. In addition to automatic daily backups (and manual backups when necessary), they also provide both a staging and a development environment which allows you to work on the site in a non-live situation and then, when you’re ready, push it to the production environment in a manner that’s seamless, as far as how users experience it. You can also build a new site but maintain the same database, which is usually what you’re looking for when performing a site rebuild.

I would highly recommend the wpengine option. As one of my clients began to grow rapidly, we had innumerable issues with godaddy hosting being able to scale up properly….there were an equal (though very different) amount of issues when I moved the site to Amazon s3’s lighthouse.

Wpengine was the right choice. Also, I rarely use their live chat anymore, but they’re amazingly responsive and extremely helpful when you do…and lord knows I used it A LOT in the beginning. They’ll help you solve stuff that really isn’t even their fault/responsibility, and there’s really no way to put a value on that when you’re starting out with wp.

Edit: also, they provide free, super simple SSL certificates….almost forgot that
