How do people feel about Oxygen Builder now?

[ad_1]

Hey — I’m currently trying out some page builders as I have a client who needs a WordPress-powered page. I do have some experience with WordPress from some years ago, but actually come from a programming background (mainly JavaScript with React & Node.JS as well as some PHP). I’ve heard people say that Oxygen would be the best choice for someone like me due to its high flexibility and because it doesn’t have the “training wheels” other page builders put you on. From my first tests, I can confirm that: Oxygen feels very much like something like Webflow to me with the high customizability. From my trialed page builders (Divi, Elementor, WPBakery, Oxygen) it definitely has been the best experience. Sure, the builder itself got its quirks, but I guess that applies to *every* builder out there.

However, I’ve also read that many people were upset about a new pagebuilder launch by the Oxygen team (Breakdance). Many feared that Oxygen would be abandoned due to the unsustainable lifetime pricing. Looking at the Oxygen site, they do seem to plan to switch to a subscription-based pricing for Oxygen, too, in the near future, though. So I was wondering: Does everyone still fear Oxygen could become an abandoned software project and should I maybe look somewhere else? If so: Any alternatives like Oxygen (high flexibility/customizability + small bundle sizes alas good PageSpeed scores)?

Thanks!
