\#Complete newbie not even graduated BUT googled and read before asking.
Basically I want to download a backup of the website, because we have experience about last time that our website broken and they don’t have a backup\*Even they said revert to 1 week before and still broken\* .From my view we outsourced the website and we do not have any IT personal responsible for website for now. Hence we got a new website but to avoid our website broken or anything,
IS IT POSSIBLE TO backup websites from “so called user” side?
\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*
steps that I did and fail miserably
1. save file as webpage
again only 1 webpage and “hyperlink” broken
using htttrack website copier some link missing and script missing.
3. try asking the website hosting again they say it is not their responsibility and contact web developer. Best they can do is revert 1 week.\*Of course IF THE user has their own \*local?\* copy they will gladly help.

Install a backup plugin eg UpdraftPlus. Set it up to run backups daily or weekly, and send the backups to a remote server.
I hate to say it, but if you have a developer working with the site, and they can’t answer this type of question, you need to find someone new asap. I mean, even if you are not currently paying the developer, unless you were a complete pain to work with, there is no reason a good developer wouldn’t advise, or at least offer to set it up for you for an hourly charged upgrade to the site.
You SHOULD have full admin account access to your WordPress site. You should have login credentials for the hosting. You should also have logins for domain registration and supplement services such as CloudFlare. Even if you don’t use the admin login or log into those other services, you should have the information securely stored away somewhere (I tell my clients it HBAB info, in case I were to get Hit By A Bus, they can easily move on to someone else).
