Hi,
The question is in the title, but give some context here:
Someone I know had his wordpress got hacked.
The person who was managing the technical part was lost on that, so he paid someone else found on internet to fix it, and that person totally failed (I don’t know if this is scam or incompetence, maybe he was only good at seo …)
Then he asked for help on facebook and so he hired me to fix everything. And after some grep/sed and comparison with official packages, the website is up and clean, and finally I’m hosting the website now to avoid more surprise.
So, now everything is up and running fine, I would like to make some cleaning and remove unused plugins.
So, I removed safely some plugins after checking they were not used (like `Contact Form 7` and a couple of others I don’t remember), but there is still some I don’t know if they are useful or not.
The main plugin they use is “Events Manager” (they use it and I had to make a 1 year update + migration to make it works properly ^^).
And noone was able to tell me if other plugins were used.
So, the main one I might deactivate is Advanced Custom Fields. I don’t see particular changes when I deactivate it on my localhost version, but maybe I m missing something.
Other plugins are security related, and I will probably keep them except if I have opposite advices:
Shield Security
SOLID security Basique
Wordfence Security
(+ Contact Form 7 I already deactivated because they don’t have contact form)
