I have been running my website on WordPress for a while, but lately I’m getting some strange attacks. Somebody is trying to guess my password and I get regularly blocked out for short periods of time.
What I don’t understand is that I’m using one of those plugins to change the login URL. I have now changed the URL to a random string of characters, and I still get these random attempts. Does this function not work as I think it does? How can they guess the URL?
What actions would you take to secure the page? 2FA?
Would changing my user name be effective?
