Is ManageWP being absorbed into GoDaddy Hub – what’s the plan?

[ad_1]

Got an email saying that all Pro Sites (aka Managewp) services will be absorbed into the GoDaddy Hub, which is slightly concerning.

How’s everyone feeling about this? What significant impact do you think it will have on users (specifically those not using GoDaddy for hosting)? Will you be looking to migrate to an alternative maintenance/management tool?

Tbh, I’ve been looking around for a while and hearing this, I think it might be time to move to somewhere with a nicer intuitive interface (I always found Managewp very clunky and I would love to have a nice interface) and a good reporting system (I’m managing over 50 websites).

For now, I’ve filtered it down to 3:
RemoteWP (looking just like ManageWP, but just more expensive..?)
WP Umbrella (backups and everything included in one pricing plan, and people look enthusiastic about it on G2, is it good?)
MainWP (maybe cheap to buy initially, but they don’t manage backups and other essential tasks, which is maybe not a wise choice in my situation – feels like using Linux as OS lol).

Does anyone have experience with these tools? What’s everyone using nowadays for multiple site maintenance (backups, updates, vulnerability, security checks, etc)? All suggestions for robust and reliable all-around tools are welcome.

  1. An email from who? What does “Pro sites” refer to?

I don’t use anything from Godaddy, but use MWP and haven’t received anything.

I feel the same about MWP, it’s starting to show its age and I’m wanting something slicker as it is painful and slow for > 50 sites. But the price ($0) is hard to beat 😉

  2. Would you mind sharing links to the news about the changes to ManageWP ? We use it but I have not heard anything.

  3. MainWP is solid and easy to use. UI is a bit messy but it’s robust.

Really hope we can keep that project alive for a long time.

  4. I’m just looking at adopting MainWP for a suite of maybe 20 sites. Anyone else use it? Worth doing? Any problems? Does it really not manage backups?

  5. I have the same issue. My Pro Sites is still working now but it looks like they plan to stop? The GoDaddy “Hub” IU is shit.

  6. I haven’t heard anything about it and been a ManageWP client for about a decade. Until forced to I won’t be leaving since I have a 30% loyalty discount and only use bundles so it’s cheaper than any alternative. If I were forced to change I would either go MainWP or WP Umbrella for sure. My workload whenever this decision has to be made will be a primary factor.

    I’m managing over 50 websites.

I was thinking to get ManageWP many years ago, but when I calculated the price I would have to pay for an increased number of sites, I gave up and bought MainWP Lifetime Deal.

    >MainWP (maybe cheap to buy initially, but they don’t manage backups and other essential tasks,

It’s true, they don’t have their built-in backup solution, but they offer many extensions to popular backup solutions, see [here](https://mainwp.com/mainwp-extensions/extension-category/backups/). However, I don’t use any of those, so I use independently All in one WP migration plugin and schedule regular backups on our 2.5 TB pCloud.

    >What’s everyone using nowadays for multiple site maintenance (backups, updates, vulnerability, security checks, etc)?

For backups part – I answered in the previous question.

For updates: MainWP for 50+ sites

For vulnerabilities & security checks: Virusdie and MalCare (not on the same sites)
