My new ad partner added their code. There was one Adsense ad I had placed in a box for ads made on my theme. I removed what I thought was the adsense ad from this box and now I don’t have a homepage. It’s blank except for some ads popping up. My pages don’t show a featured pictures as well but the pages are still readable and getting traffic.
I’m not getting any help from the ad partners nd the theme support just told me to turn off all the plugins except the original which I don’t even know which is which. Some of the plug ins (I believe the ad partner added) don’t have a deactivation option either. This is all beyond my ability and I’m pretty fearful to touch anything else. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.
I’ve thought about trying to restore a back up but would that even fix a theme issue?. I have one from two weeks ago before this, but I’d lose about two weeks of work. I’ve tried to stay busy optimizing the articles and have published some. Thanks for any suggestions.

Restoring from backup would put everything back as it was before you made your mistake.
Have you contacted your hosting provider for help?
FixRunner.com is a reliable and affordable WordPress agency. They have a vast knowledge of WordPress and offer a “no fix, no fee” policy where you only pay after your problem is solved and confirmed by you. fix works).
Get onto a host that has daily and incremental backups.
Backup plug-ins, if not configured to use a cloud service for storage, will count against your available hosting space allotment.
Also, use a staging site and/or local dev environment for previewing changes. Leave production for database content work. Copy database down for staging and local, never up unless you’re launching a new site or refactor.
Did you paste the script directly into a template? Seems like you have removed part of the template and replaced it with the Adsense script.
I don’t know your sites exact setup, but if you’re editing pages with code for which you’re not completely comfortable with it’s not an ideal situation.
Seems like the best way would be to restore a revision. And perhaps next time copy the template you plan on editing into a text editor beforehand as an extra measure.
