Is there a WordPress image optimizer that doesn’t use a third-party server?

There are multiple image optimizer plugins available, but all of the ones that I’ve found need an API key and a subscription to a third-party service (e.g., Imagify, & ShortPixel).\*\*

Are there any good image optimizers that can do the optimization on the WordPress server itself instead of using third-party servers? Forget about the potential server load & memory issues for a moment, and just focus on the question itself.

\*\* Yes, they do have “free plans,” but cost isn’t what I’m interested in.
