My website has suddenly reverted to a version over a year old. I can no longer log in to the wordpress backend.

I called our host (godaddy) and they restored to the version three days ago (when the website was fine), and it is still the extremely old website. They haven't been helpful beyond that in finding the issue. What is happening? Any advice appreciated. When I try to log in to the wordpress backend, I get "Error: There is no account with that username or email address." Thank you

  1. Try renaming your plugins folder and try logging in again.

If it is still an issue, get them to restore another day or two before.

Likely the “fine” version you saw was actually cached.
