Need to know if a review website built with WordPress is possible.

I’d like to start a website where users rate different services, think like trust pilot, g2, Glassdoor. They’d be able to rate each company based on several factors. Would also need to be able to review about 100 different companies starting off. Is that even possible with WordPress or would that be too much for it to handle? Thanks in advance.

  1. Pretty much anything can be built on WordPress. It may not be a perfect fit, but it can be done. Gravity Forms and Advanced Custom Fields are your friends. Learn to use them and there’s a lot of dynamic functionality you can accomplish with minimal custom coding.

  2. Yeah, you should be fine.

Your biggest concern for growth is going to be your host / server. That’s what’s taking on the load when users sign up, items get added to the database, posts get submitted, etc.

  3. I think others have given helpful responses so I’m going to suggest something different in regards to the market and being an outlier.

Unlike some other ratings platforms, please do not let money compromise the integrity of your platform should this ever become a major thing. Companies need to manage honest feedback with respective changes, not be able to buy themselves out of a bad reputation in the form of a payment or the ability to run an ad under their reviews, contradicting said reviews with false or disingenuous claims.

    Good luck.
