Good evening
I have always had a keen interest in web development and in WordPress in general but life has been so busy and I always felt I didn’t have time to focus on learning for a sustained period of time. I have now decided that I want to really knuckle down and learn WordPress. I have done tons of reading and started a local WordPress dev site to get a feel for it but I am just a little unsure on the best way to go.
I am proficient in html/css and some JavaScript. I started learning php as well as I understand that’s the core of WordPress. I can’t decide if I should focus my attention using a page builder like bricks or something block related like Generatepress and generate blocks. From what I have been reading FSE is what seems to be the future they say so I just want to learn and build some small business sites in a way that will be future proof.
Appreciate any advice
Thank you

If you want to start developing your WordPress site the best way is to do this in code. Builders will always have some sort of limitations but then working with the code it’s all at the tips of your fingers.
