Hello
I was stupid enough to buy a company with a “so-called functional” website but which since 2017 has had no real updates and now has many problems…
Unfortunately, financially I’m in a bad situation because I invested everything in new products thinking that the site was functional (as I said stupid).
The various problems include
-the number of plugins (currently 42 but more than 60),
-the site is extremely slow (especially mobile) and
-it was built with WP Bakery Visual Composer which indicates to me that it has
-moderate security problems (I’ve already removed the high-risk plugins)
-when I try to remove it, it leaves traces of code.
I currently have over 1500 products published and then translated into two more languages.
But the categories are slightly poorly constructed
Visually I don’t like it, but I can work around it.
I’ll take any advice you can give me
for example lose love for everything and start again from scratch?
switch to another Builder?
pray ?
Excuse my English

Hey there, oof – this site sounds like its in bad shape… and if it were down to me, I’d start again… but it depends on budget.
1500 products sounds a lot – what are you selling, and do you have your products compiled in a spreadsheet somewhere in the business?
Roughly, what is your budget?
Knowing these real life components to the operation will help dictate things going forward.
Drop me a dm I can maybe help you sort this out if you could show me what you’re working with? I sometimes push out WP websites in 24-48 hours even ones with a lot of products, so I presume there is a way to resolve your issue quickly and soft on the pocket too. Alternatively, I recommend export data and rebuild – ghost code almost always creates problems in the long run.
