Hey @devtester2264,
Since you’re a Pro user I recommend reaching out to us via our website since we’re technically not allowed to help Pro users here according to the WordPress.org forum guidelines.
That being said, I assume you’re expecting that our sitemap will not include posts with a canonical URL that is different from their own permalink?
If so, that is unfortunately not how our sitemap currently works. We include posts regardless of their canonical URL as we would have to incur a significant performance hit in order to compare every post’s permalink with its canonical URL.
However, this also shouldn’t be an issue from an SEO perspective since it’s totally fine for Google to crawl these as long as the canonical is there. You won’t be penalized for duplicate content and Google will decide whether they want to index the page or not. If you do not want the page to be indexed, then you can noindex it, which will exclude it from the sitemap.
Alternatively, if you just have a handful of posts like these, then you can also manually exclude them from the sitemap under AIOSEO > Sitemaps > General Sitemap > Advanced > Exclude Posts.
Let me know if that makes sense.
