Product restrict variants that can be selected

[ad_1]

Hey there, @eyreseyy! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

Are you adding the products via the default WooCommerce interface?

If you are, let me share how to set this up.

From what I can see you already have the attributes set up, correct?

So you can go to the product edit page and under product data, go to the Variations tab.

You want 3cm belts to have variations for 90cm/100cm and any color.
And 4 cm belts to have variations for 105cm/115cm and any color.
Correct?

So you want the variation setup to look like this:

Right now, it seems that your setup is: Any Width/Any Length/Any Color, which makes it possible to select any combination.

If you set it up like this, specifying which length is related to each width, it should work as you want.

I recorded a video of how this set up looks on my site, it will look a bit different then yours because of the theme and possible plugins, but the variation restriction is there.

I hope this was clarifying.

You can find more about this in this guide.

Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help or if you have any questions.

Have a wonderful day!

Hi,

Thanks for your response. It kind of works. https://zodyak.co.uk/shop/belts/cancer-leather-womens-belt/. The only problem is flicking between the options is a bit glitchy and sometimes a price comes up and sometimes it doesn’t and the options don’t properly grey out for the not applicable options.

Can I still manage stock variations between the colours the way you have shown here? e.g. there are 5 red in 90cm, 11 brown in 90cm and 27 black in 90cm.

Thanks

Hey @carolm29, I updated this to get it to work better… https://zodyak.co.uk/shop/belts/unisex-belts/aries/

Can I still manage stock variations between the colours the way the products have been shown here?

Hi @eyreseyy

I’m glad to hear that you’ve made progress on your issue. Regarding your question about managing stock variations between the colors, yes, you can absolutely do this.

In the Variations section of the product data box, each variation has its own SKU, Stock, Weight, Dimensions, and so on. You can manage the stock for each variation independently. So, for example, you can set the stock to 5 for the 90cm red belts, 11 for the 90cm brown belts, and 27 for the 90cm black belts.

If you’re experiencing any glitches with the price not always appearing or options not greying out correctly, this could be due to a theme or plugin conflict. We recommend testing with all other plugins deactivated and using a default theme like Storefront to see if the issue persists.

I hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions.

All fixed now. Created lots of variants and managed to do it
