Recommended deployment method for WordPress in 2023?

It’s been a minute since I’ve set up a WordPress site. I’m curious what the current best practices/recommendations are for deploying WordPress in 2023. Just a single site, not multisite or anything like that.

E.g. Docker? WP-CLI? Just install LAMP manually as I did years ago? I’m sure there’s many ways of deploying, but any tips for a hardened, modern approach would be appreciated. Thank you!

Nothing better, IMHO. What can beat old fashioned fail2ban, redis, varnish, memcached, tar, cron, rsync, letsencrypt, mod-security, UWFirewall etc etc…. few lines in few config files saves a lot of unnecessary plugins. All my sites have A+ ssl grade, and at least 95-98% page speed.

I do use LOMP – openlitespeed web server, this is the only ‘modern’ part. WP-CLI is nice to have.

    My 2 cents.
