Restarting up a WP blog

[ad_1]

hi friends. After somehow closing down my previous blog (but thankfully having all posts backed up) I'm getting ready to set things up again as I move my main site to Format. Anyway, upon importing the posts back I realize I don't really care about almost any of them and would like to put them in an archive or vault…is that an option on WP?

Second question: Previously I had used Yoast with decent results but I seem to recall that (and WP itself – without ads) were both free and that's no longer the case. Is there a free SEO plugin we like that's pretty idiot proof for someone like me?

  1. Make a backup of the site. And export your posts as well using Tools > Export.

SEO plugin: Yoast is free. As are most other seo plugins like SEOPress, SEO framework, rank math, etc. search for “seo” in the WordPress.org plugin repository.

Just to clarify a point – WordPress is free, open source software. WordPress.com is a paid, proprietary hosting platform that restricts access to a lot of core feature unless you pay for higher plans. Whilst the names are similar, they are very different things.
