Hello everyone,
I’m at a crossroads in choosing the most suitable WordPress development course on Udemy to enhance my skills, and I would greatly appreciate your insights.
Given my background in full-stack web development, along with proficiency in PHP MySQL (I’ve developed a custom CMS using PHP MySQL) and currently working on projects with Ruby on Rails and React NextJS, I’m planning to learn WordPress. **My goal is to build small to medium-sized websites for small businesses/clients(excluding e-commerce) as a side gig or freelance work.**
Here are the courses I’m considering:
1. [Complete WordPress Course](https://www.udemy.com/course/complete-wp-course/)
2. [The Ultimate WordPress Boot Camp Course: Build 10 Websites](https://www.udemy.com/course/the-ultimate-wordpress-boot-camp-course-build-10-websites/)
3. [WordPress for Beginners Course](https://www.udemy.com/course/wordpress-for-beginners-course/)
4. [Become a WordPress Developer: PHP JavaScript](https://www.udemy.com/course/become-a-wordpress-developer-php-javascript/)
**Could you share your experiences or recommendations on which of these would be most beneficial for someone with my background?**
Additionally, I’m exploring freelancing opportunities, particularly on platforms like Upwork. I have a development portfolio that leans more towards full-stack projects. **Would it be advisable to use this existing portfolio, or should I create a new one focused on WordPress projects? Also, what would be a reasonable rate to charge for a 5-page website or a real estate site?**
**Lastly, given my circumstances (currently on a full-time study permit in Canada, which limits my ability to find local clients), is it feasible to aim for an extra $1k-2k per month through part-time freelancing?**
Any advice on starting freelancing, particularly how to make a standout profile on platforms like Upwork, would be incredibly helpful. Thank you in advance for your guidance and insights.
