Set up Jetpack: An error occurred. Please try again.

[ad_1]

I’m another one of the dreaded “set up jetpack an error has occured” users. I did have an xmlrpc disabler enabled, so i turned that off, verified from my local network that I could access the xmlrpc.php (got a hello response after curling), tried using a remote program that queries urls and tells you if it can reach them, it could, and I’ve checked both my firewall, cloudflare, and other logs, no blocking. I do have jetpack’s IP’s white listed, and even turned on debug logging in wordress.

I don’t see any errors anywhere, and since I run my own site, I can’t talk to my hosting provider. I’m extremely competent (work in devops, run my website in a kubernetes cluster, etc), so my guess is that either there’s some other issue rather than “we can’t reach it” to something else going on. I did take some of your “white list” IP’s and try pinging them, that worked so I can at least talk to you out, but would be currious if jetpack can access it from their servers.

Thanks!

FWIW, I used “https://ratelimit.rudyfaile.com/” to test it, and it came back with 200’s meaning it could reach the xmlrpc.php page
