Simple blog feed in Block Editor with pagination

I’m trying to create a simple blog feed on the homepage using the block editor, but I’m running into some very basic issues. I’m probably making some obvious mistakes, so I’m writing here so someone can point it out.

Here’s what I did.

In Setting > Reading, set up the front page to display posts, max 10

In Appearance > Editor > Blog Home, I’ve added the Latest post block

I managed to add pagination to the Query block, but it doesn’t work. It only changes the URL without changing the page’s content.

I want to also adjust the style of the posts, like spacing and separators, but I can’t edit the inside of the Latest Posts block.

Is this the right way to go about it? What am I missing?
