Creating a staging site typically shouldn’t impact the performance of your live site. However, it’s important to ensure you have sufficient disk space. For instance, if your live site is 5GB and you have only 10GB of available disk space, creating a staging site (which will also be around 5GB) would bring you to the disk space limit. This can lead to degraded performance of your server.
To avoid any issues, make sure to have enough disk space before proceeding.
