Strange blog behavior – old blog layout persists

I’m facing strange behavior. The original blog page was titled “blog”. We built a new page called “customer-blog”, and restructured the layout (using Elementor, if that matters).

When we directly view “customer-blog”, it looks right. However, when we set the blog page to use “customer-blog”, set the menu item to use “customer-blog” the old blog layout shows up.

We deleted “customer-blog” and added a brand new “customer-blog-2” page, and used the Elementor element to display the posts, set the columns, etc. Same result. I’ve never seen this before, and am totally baffled.

All but necessary plugins have been disabled, and there is no server-side caching in place yet. Clearing browser caches give the same result.

Can someone point me in the right direction?
