Switched from WordPress.com to Self-Hosted: Worried About Losing Visitors

[ad_1]

I moved my blog from WordPress.com to self-hosting for more freedom in how it looks. But now I’m worried about losing visitors, especially since I can’t use the WordPress.com Reader network anymore.

I’d love to know how it went for you when you made a similar switch. Did losing the Reader network affect how many people came to your site? Were there other things that made a big difference in your traffic after going self-hosted?

I get that lots of stuff matters for a blog to do well, but I’m really curious about the Reader network. Is the traffic from there a big deal, and if it is, how did you make up for not having it when it comes to getting more people to your self-hosted site?
