Thinking about making the switch to wordpressnfron wix

[ad_1]

I’ve heard many people complain about wix, I enjoy it. It’s simple and user friendly but is understand it’s for entry level web devs, I’m going to try and approach bigger clients that need a higher functionality of there sites, do you believe I will eventually run into a technical ceiling while using wix as my web creation space

  1. Welcome to the dark side! Just remember, with customisation comes responsibility. Many people (including me) will tell you there’s a right way and a wrong way to do wordpress, which I don’t think can be said about Wix.

If you’re familiar with html/CSS/php you should look at making your own wordpress themes.

If not, use a theme with a page builder or elementor to get the way customisation you’re used to on wix. Try to keep the use of plugins to a minimum.

  2. The skill curve isn’t that bad with WordPress, but getting to the point where you can reproduce results quickly and troubleshoot without spending hours on simple issues can take awhile.

Wix and other similar CMS options truly can’t compare in terms of customization and modularity, but like others said you have to be careful with how you set things up.

Plugins are one of the big things that new WordPress users mess up, but really all you need to do is keep your plugin list trim and drop some cash on premium options where it makes sense.
