I wanted to share my experience of building an e-commerce platform using Wix, despite its limitations and lack of features compared to other platforms like Shopify.
As a small business owner with limited SKUs, I decided to go with Wix because it was more affordable and had a user-friendly interface. I was able to create a visually appealing and functional online store without needing any coding experience.
However, as my business began to grow, I started to realize that Wix had its own limitations. There were features that I needed that were not available on the platform, and I found myself spending more time trying to work around these limitations than actually focusing on growing my business.
This led me to consider Shopify, which is known for its robust features and capabilities. However, the cost of using Shopify was a concern for me as a small business owner. While Shopify is a great platform, it may not be pocket-friendly for everyone.
At this point, I’m still debating whether or not to make the switch to Shopify. On the one hand, I know that Shopify has more features and capabilities that will allow me to grow my business more efficiently. I don’t want to break the bank by switching to a more expensive platform. But am also confused if I will be able to transfer all my inventory later to Shopify if I choose to.
Overall, I’m happy with my decision to use Wix to start my online store. It allowed me to create a functional platform without needing any coding experience, and I was able to get my business off the ground. However, as my business continues to grow, I know that I may need to consider switching to a more robust platform like Shopify.
