This is driving me mad, I have Word documents on my site displayed using Simple File List but when a user with an IOS device clicks on the file the downloaded file extension suddenly changes from .docx to .docx.doc and it won’t open as a result. I have used troubleshooting mode but it still happens. This is with Word 6.6.2, any ideas How to fix this?
Unless it’s a very specific usecase, linking directly to .docx files is an accessibility issue and should be avoided in favour of (fully accessible) pdfs.
