Hi,
I have notice that many sites, WordPress on others, have poor search features. I want to take a stab at a generic plugin to improve search on WordPress, but I want to gauge how valuable this tool would be for others. The tool will really heavily on semantic search rather than text matches.
Even if the search improves, I am unsure if this will bring meaningful conversions for the site owners.
What are you thoughts on this?

There is a lot of room for improvement with the WordPress search functionality for sure.
A lot of people (myself including) use Relevanssi to improve the results, so I think that you’d have to ask yourself how your solution will be better/different from Relevanssi.
