WP website down after update, godaddy show old website revision, how to find a newer version?

My friend asked me to make some minor updates to their website such as adding pictures, updating a year, and changing some text. However, when I accessed the website through wp-admin, I discovered that it had not been updated for a couple of years. Therefore, I updated the WordPress release, plugins, and themes. Unfortunately, this resulted in the website going down with no access to wp-admin due to a critical error.

To resolve the issue, I went to GoDaddy’s Manage my products section and found only one Managed WordPress – Pro 5, which had not been updated. So, I updated it too, but this also caused it to go down. To bring the website back up, I removed some plugins through PHPmyadmin. After resolving the issue, I realized that the website was still an older version, and despite trying everything I could, I could not find the latest version of the website.

Finally, I decided to create a staging site by clicking the “create staging” button. Upon checking the tables with phpMyAdmin, I found that they were the latest version. However, when I opened the myftpupload staging site, it still displayed old information. How can I determine the location of the most up-to-date version of the website on godaddy?

  1. Enable debugging so you can see the critical error message: [https://wordpress.org/documentation/article/debugging-in-wordpress/])

I’d highly recommend moving hosts – GoDaddy commonly has problems, inc poor performance/speed.
