This is a feature of the checkout block, it was added a while ago.
It makes total sense to remove the shipping option if only local pick up is available. The good news is this feature request is already part of our backlog.

We can’t specify a date when this will be added, but the team will work on it as soon as possible 🙂
The need for a shipping address should also be removable for this scenario, as I just need the billing address, but that’s the smaller issue.
The checkout usually has an checkbox to use the same address for both billing and shipping?
Is it not available on your checkout page?

Thank you for your answer, that’s exactly what I was trying to achieve. I will have a look and follow the github report.
I have no issues with the shippiung address, as I have the option to force it to be the same as the billing address, it’s just not neccessary at the frontend and could be misleading for some customers. But as I said, thats the smaller issue.
