A little surprised that using the same provider, cloning of WordPress site, did not copy entire htaccess directives ??

I used a Cloning plugin to migrate a site from the same hosting provider. To my surprise, after the migration. The site worked fine, however, there was a http to https placed in the htaccess file by the hosting provider.

When the cloning happened, the new htaccess file was missing that directive.

How is that possible ?
Anyways, I just placed it back into the new site and everything is working just fine.

But why ?
