A site with two page builders…?

[ad_1]

I was recently tasked with auditing a website’s performance before offering a formal proposal. I checked the page source and saw Divi, figured that was the builder they used, and moved on. As I was checking the Network tab during page loads, I then saw references to Elementor.

I thought that was odd so I double-checked the page source, and sure enough they’re using both Divi and Elementor. Somehow. BuiltWith.com only shows Divi, but page source doesn’t lie. They’ve got both Divi and Elementor installed. What’s the use-case for this? I didn’t even know it was possible to (reliably) use 2 different page builders on a website, and it just seems really odd.

edit: I totally forgot there’s a separate Divi theme. That’s probably what they’re using, then Elementor as the page builder.

  1. When I started using Elementor, I added it to pages in a site I’d created with Beaver Builder. They coexisted because each page was running either one or the other. Not something I’d recommend doing intentionally because it’s a performance hit and can get confusing. I eventually rebuilt the site on a different server using only Elementor.
