A WordPress exam or a certificate ?

[ad_1]

I obviously don’t have the time or the bandwidth, but with WordPress being 50% of the internet, I am surprised that there is no formal certification for it.
I mean I cannot recount the number of times people come desperately asking for help because they have ruined their websites or they activate a new theme on an old theme or they never have a backup.
I think there should be some sort of certification body that cover various levels of WordPress, for those that want to go the developer route, maybe even have detailed
CSS
HTML
PHP
JavaScript
SQL

Questions on this exam, but the very basic exam should cover topics such as backup and recovery, optimizations, security, plugins, your basic stuff so that people can know at a minimum if a person is qualified to work on their website or creating their websites.

maybe even have 3 levels and the last level will be WordPress API, I don’t know, but honestly, there are so many people now that want to build you a site that don’t even understand the difference between WordPress . Com and . Org.

There is an exam for everything under the sun, why not WordPress ???

  1. I am against this. How much would it be?

Who decides how much is enough marks to “pass”?

  2. There are tons of people who sell courses about WP for almost every level and some of them even offer a “certificate” at the end of the course.

learn.wordpress.org is very good source to learn pretty much anything WP-related.

  3. WordPress professionals rely on networking more. I don’t think I will trust any badges or certificates.
