Hi all.
Back in 2015 I made a simple wordpress site with comicpress to host a webcomic. I used godaddy for domain, dreamhost for hosting, filezilla as my go-to FTP. The site was then more-or-less abandoned for years, aside from occasional updates, but since I am not a programmer or webdev by trade, I honestly forgot a lot of how I set the site up. Not even sure how I managed to install the wordpress software, or from where, but it worked. Recently, I decided to consolidate my hosting and domain, and transferred the domain to dreamhost as well.
Then, I decided to make a different website for another webcomic, also hosted and domained by dreamhost. Dreamhost has an ‘install wordpress’ feature, I’m sure you’re all aware.
But this is where I fucked up; I accidentally selected the FIRST, old site, and then went to pound that INSTALL WORDPRESS button. I only realized my mistake once the install was underway, and I couldn’t stop it. It just finished installing, so I quickly went to my site to see what the damage was. My entire site, all my years old coding, graphics, artwork, comments, plugins, are all gone and replaced by a generic wordpress placeholder template. I’m kind of devastated.
Please, help this total webdev and wordpress n00b to restore my old site!
