ACF with relations between custom post types

[ad_1]

I have used ACF before on a fully custom sized them, but am not an expert.

Setting up backend for new website and need a little help from someone with ACF experience. Rough idea below…

The site has multiple custom post types (ex. movies, actors, crew members).

Some post types will need be listed inside other post types (ex- crew members and actors listed inside movies).

If an actor is selected/removed inside a repeater block section it needs to be automatically added/removed inside an overview section which lists all actors associated with the movie. This actor overview section does not need to be directly editable.

Can pay hourly for consultation or set up. Thank you.

  1. That’s what the Relationship field is for: [https://www.advancedcustomfields.com/resources/relationship/])

Repeaters are for content – they don’t understand relationships.

  2. The ACF website has a walkthrough of how to accomplish this. Alternatively, I’m aware that the plugin “ACF Extended” adds a relation field with bidirectional sync support. Just select the field to sync with and as long as types match, you’re golden
