Thank you for your feedback, indeed, in the current version, the shortcode option will output the snippet regardless of the status. This is happening because adding it as a shortcode is sort of a manual-insert option over which you have control separately.
With that said, there are use-cases where being able to disable a shortcode without having to edit the page where it is inserted is useful so I have made a note to update that behaviour in a future release so that the active status is also reflected when using the shortcode insert option.
