I’m quite new to WordPress web development, I’m looking to use it to create an e-commerce website, before committing to any commercial licenses I’ve tried using the free versions of elementor and bricks builder.
Bricks builder seems to be buggy when attempting to filter on subcategories with woocommerce products.
Within elementor the main woocommerce integrations are only available for the pro version.
What tools do you guys use, any advice for a beginner?
I want to create a custom look hence why I’ve attempted to use the above mentioned page builders.
Thoughts?

You could ad the proelements plugin for elementor? It gives you pro options but without webkit feature.
How confident are you in CSS? If I remember right, you can make a solid WooCommerce shop when pairing a full free builder option like Elementor and custom CSS. I use the Divi builder. They have a solid system (Woo options are available) and it’s only 89$ a year for unlimited sites, or 249$ for lifetime.
For me, what it boils down to is: how much is your time worth? If you are looking to save money on a builder or custom theme, make sure you dont spend so much time on the css that you devalue your own time. If you value your time with clients at $50/hour, if it will take you more than 5 hours to make the necessary changes via CSS and JS, just buy something like Divi’s lifetime. When I first got my start, I easily spent over 50 hours trying to add custom code, then my buddy let me try Divi and now I’m able to focus more on the design and the client than the functionality.
