I’ve created affiliate referral links that are supposed to refer the user to a product (book) page and then, once they’ve added that book to their cart, can proceed to checkout with the affiliate’s coupon automatically being added at checkout.
The only problem is, the coupon isn’t added. It will only automatically add if the affiliate link takes the user directly to a cart or checkout page.
Here is an example of one of our affiliate links: https://israelthemiracle.com/product/israel-the-miracle-the-book/?coupon=amyzewe
You’ll notice the coupon doesnt apply automatically once you’ve reached the checkout page.
HOWEVER, if you were to re-copy the affiliate link into the browser after having already been on the site for a bit, it will work the second time. It seems its unwilling to activate the coupon unless the browser has at least seen the cart or checkout page at somepoint before using the link.
Does that make sense? Any thoughts as to what is happening?
