I have tons of new registrations to my site daily and I have “Anyone can register” under settings turned off. As it turns out the default page to register on ANY website is http://yourdomain/wp-login.php?action=register So anyone who knows your site exists could be using spam bots to register. I’ve had to delete loads of subscribers.
