All I want to do is change my Site Title font. 6 hours gone today searching…

I am taking steps to establish a proper platform, and have had my mind blown as to how unintuitive this process is in the year 2023.

My free wordpress dot com site is just as I like it. However, exporting/importing to WordPress on my domain has resulted in less than favorable results: missing blog pages, wonky fonts, missing features, et cetera. The most frustrating is that I’m unable to simply change the font of my Site Title! My old page allowed me to click on a “Fonts” section under the Customize menu, and that was that. The “Fonts” section is not available when using WordPress on your own domain, and after 6 hours I’ve failed to utilize CSS successfully.

Does anybody have the solution without me spending several more hours taking courses on creating an entire “child theme” and CSS coding to just change a font?… Or would it be easier to simply peruse the other 5,000+ free themes to find one that allows this 🤔😏🙄.

Unreal. (Heh. I remember when that was a new DOS game.) 🧙‍♂️

  1. GOOD GRAVY just upon posting this, it was only 2 more queries of desperation before I stumbled upon the answer several pages of search results later.

For anybody else suffering this issue, the answer is on the following page, under “Question 6”
