Alternative location for images and media

[ad_1]

If I’m running a website that has listings with tons of photos each, and the site is 10GB+ in size now, is there an alternative to hosting images for each listing elsewhere instead of on the server itself in the wp-content/uploads folder? I fear that the website size is affecting the load speed, but also I’m exhausting the web hosting storage plan that I’m on anyway (5GB limit for the whole site).

In case this info helps, it’s not an e-commerce website, just listings as if for real estate. Would be cool to have a “lazy load” style animation before the images load as well if possible, not sure if that functionality is connected to any of the solutions that may be recommended.

  1. Get better hosting (e.g. Linode, Digital Ocean, Vultr – they all have one-click WordPress installers e.g. . Whilst 10GB is a lot in terms of data, it won’t affect your site speed.

You get your own server and can choose from a wide range of disk + memory sizes – I think the minimum disk size is 80GB.
